In Indonesia, there is a strong need to invest more heavily in infrastructure with the country lagging behind in its investment levels and resulting access indicators. The Bank has had a long engagement in the road sector in Indonesia and the current transport portfolio consist of two on going and two planned road projects. The world bank office in Jakarta is recruiting for the position of:

Highway Engineer

The applicant should possess the following characteristics:

1. Masters level degree in either Civil Engineer or Highway Engineering
2. At least 8 years experience in transport operations including management of transport projects, road projects, experience in contract administration, planning and programming of capital and maintenance works and institutional reforms
3. Comprehension of typical sectoral issues in transport, including experience in advocacy of sector policy reforms and management and financing of transport infrastructure
4. Superior analytical skills as applied to common problems in the transport sector
5. Excellent organizational and presentation skills
6. Ability to work within a matrix management structure
7. Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
8. Computer literacy in basic software for word processing, spreadsheet and database
9. Excellent command of the English language and Bahasa Indonesia
